Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)

Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) commonly referred to as MTA can help a participant who needs a place to live while waiting for a confirmed long-term housing solution to be ready.

MTA which is a transitional accommodation that suits NDIS participants who are waiting to move into a confirmed more permanent home. This accommodation is available for up to 3 months (90 days). MTA aims to prevent participants from being delayed in hospitals when they are ready for discharge or forced into aged care residential facilities. MTA is funded under Core Supports in the NDIS plan. To fund this, the NDIS needs evidence that the person has somewhere to move into at the end of the MTA funding. The MTA covers the accommodation costs; however, the participant will still need to pay for other needs such as food and bills.
