Short Term Accommodation (STA)

Under the NDIS, Short term accommodation (STA) replaces what used to be called “respite” for people living with a disability.

STA is a support offering participants a short stay away from their home for a period of 2-6 weeks, available through the Core funding of their plan. Funding for respite is still available for participants and their carers, however, it is now provided as ‘Short Term Accommodation and Assistance’. STA gives the participants a chance to try new things, make friends and learn skills as well as give their family or carers a short break from their support role.

Serenity Group homes give a chance to NDIS participants who have access to core funding to experience time away from home in a cosy, supportive and safe environment. We have several welcoming STA homes for adults living with disability across Perth metropolitan region. Our Short-Term Accommodations are a home away from home for people with a disability! A stay with us gives you the chance to meet new people, try new things and recharge. STA means your family or carer can get some time to unwind too. It’s a win-win for you and your loved ones.

Our Team will also make sure your support needs are met to include, Nutrition, Meal planning and cooking, Personal care such as showering and dressing and taking medication.

If our participants would prefer not to stay in one of our homes, we can also provide support in their own homes through our In-Home Respite Services.
